In October 2010, Sid Sankaran joined AIG as Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer. Prior to joining the company, Sid was a partner in the Finance and Risk practice at Oliver Wyman Financial Services. He headed the firm’s Toronto office and served as Canadian Market Manager since 2006.Sid has spent his career working with financialservices companies, including a number of insurers, on risk management issues. He has also conducted strategy and risk-focused studies across a range of financial institutions, including insurers, banks, securities firms and specialty finance companies in North America and Europe.Earlier in his career, Sid worked at Mercer Risk, Finance & Insurance Consulting and MMC Enterprise Risk, focusing on insurance company valuation and mergers and acquisitions.Sid holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree (majoring in actuarial science) and graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He completed actuarial examinations from the Society of Actuaries.
